High fever and other dengue symptoms last for two to four days, followed by a rapid drop in body temperature with excessive sweating. The body temperature remains normal for the next one day and the weakness seems a bit less. The next day the fever starts to rise again. Except the face, there are small red spots all over the body. The palms and soles become dark red with swelling.
